Living In A World Of Pressure

A former colleague (and mentor of mine), shared this video on Facebook, and I thought it was insanely powerful. The message likely resonates with all women, but I felt it especially poignant since becoming a mother, because I do feel an insane amount of pressure to be not only a good mom, but a fulfilled, successful woman.

Are you in danger of burning out? Take a watch and see if you cried as much as I did!

The message is one that is important, and also difficult because it could be seen as anti-feminist by some. However, as explained in the video it is actually about raising women up and ensuring they enjoy their life.

I know I need to ease up for sure, because I feel like lately I've been consumed with feelings of inadequacy.

I also thought it interesting that the woman who shared this is as bad-ass hard working as they come. Shes a mother and a success in her industry, and she gave me the opportunity to grow and learn that not many would.

After watching this I feel like I will enjoy the good-night kisses a bit more tonight. And I'll try to let up on myself a bit. I hope you all do too.

  1. I do agree. There are days that I feel like a complete failure because I'm not doing the same things that I was before I became a Mom. I'm not working, I'm not going to the gym and to top it off I'm not being a particularly good Mom. However I do often forget that this isn't going to be my life forever and that I should cherish it whilst I'm still able to run after and chase a crazy 1.5 year old lunatic!
